Osteria Mozza

If you want to have a romantic and atas (high class) date with the possibly-right-one, you can plan to have a nice Italian cuisine at Osteria Mozza, watch a play at Marina Bay Sands and then walk along the quiet breezy riverside outside. One plus point: it is so accessible by train.

Mozza has 2 sides, right side specialised in pizza and the left specialised in Italian. I did not want to dirty my expensive dress with pizza crusts and chips that night and therefore chose the Italian. It was a right choice. The ambience was great and quiet, the waiters were approachable and knowledgeable, and the food was brilliant.

Mozza is just opposite Marina Bay Sands' theatre.

On the house while waiting for our dishes.

Antipasti: Grilled prawns with orange agrodolce ($25). This dish surprised me with the prawns being really fresh. I had never had such amazing prawns anywhere in any cuisines. The meat was moist, soft but bouncy and had a hint of smokey taste. Amazing sauce.

Primi: Francobolli di Brasato with tomato, basil and ricotta al forno ($25/$55). I ordered the smaller portion of this stuffed pasta so that I could save my stomach for another pasta. This was also another great dish. There were finely juicy minced beef and herbs hidden in this wonderful pockets of soft pasta. I was really tempted to get the larger portion.

Primi: Orecchiette with fennel sausage and Swiss chard ($27/$58). I'm quite sure all their pasta were handmade as the texture were unique and had "soul" in every bite. This pasta was slightly chewy compared to the Francobolli di Brasato but it had a taste of Italy, homely yet sophisticated. Do not just chew and swallow the food, try spend some seconds savoring the layers of flavour, texture, aroma and the after-taste to truly appreciate the chef's effort.

Also, do not hesitate to approach the waiters for recommendations and the ingredients used in all dishes, they are really knowledgeable and do not judge you being a newbie. I mean, who will not return after a pleasant first try, right?

After the wonderful dinner, the night could never got better with a nice and cheerful Dirty Dancing at the theatre.
