Hong Kong Day 2

Hong Kong Day 2

This morning there was still a slight drizzle so we decided to stay in hotel until the drizzle had stopped. We had a typical breakfast that a local will have at the HK cafe: noodles with luncheon meat, egg and veg. Not forgetting their milk tea..
I found this innovative drawer right under our table! All our utensils are inside, can save both waiters' and customers' time. Clean and hazard-free.

Then we proceeded to get the MTR. Today we wanted to go to Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙咀)for sightseeing and shopping..
I find the mosaic they used on the pillars are very vintage. It looks almost the same for every station (except Disneyland station), unlike Singapore's.

After some shopping at iSQUARE shopping mall, we wandered to Kowloon Park, where they have the Avenue of Comic Stars, public swimming pool, bush maze and many activities happen there. There were so many people there on a Saturday.

Then we landed at the Park Lane Shoppers' Boulevard. Bought nothing...

And finally we reached the Victoria Harbour! Heard the mobile softee van's musical box sound ringing and I ran for it. HK$9 (about SGD1.50) each.

Then we strolled down the harbour licking the ice cream, enjoying the sea breeze. But I hate the crowd.

The famous pirate (张保仔) ship. You can take the ship and cruise around at HK$190 (SGD31).

This year is the 40th anniversary of Bruce Lee's death. TV showing memoirs and interviews about him too..you see the flowers underneath his statue! They had a ceremony this afternoon for everyone to remember him once again.

Avenue of Stars: I chose Shek Kin, the villain and enemy of old time Wong Fei Hong back in the 40s. He acted with Bruce Lee before too. Love it when he pissed heroes off.

After strolling the harbour, we looked for food again and found a cafe with roasted meat. It's really hard to find a cafe at Tsim Sha Tsui already compared to 3 years ago..but you will never starve walking around HK.

Just a ringer, normally locals use the tea given to rinse the utensils. You may still drink it if you like but I will get myself an ice lemon tea instead.

How can I miss the roasted pork and chicken right?

Fried egg with shrimps.

Finally, time to pack a hot dessert and go back to rest because we were carrying too many things. I bought many hair treatment cream as they are sooooooo much cheaper here and they have VO5 hair treatment oil here which Singapore does not have it anymore...

My mom planned to rest for a day in the hotel tomorrow as it is Sunday and will be crowded going everywhere..so maybe I will update again on Monday night. Unless there is anything interesting enough tomorrow..hehe...

Have a good Sunday!

xoxo
