Response to an interesting comment I received today!

I can't help but I have to respond to the comment I received today on my post on Jamie's Italian Singapore. I know I could have just responded by replying the thread but I really couldn't help it! It is so interesting! Let me share with everyone..

Before I start responding to this comment, I really want to show my appreciation for any comments left on my blog, I welcome improvements (if I find them applicable).

Here is my response to the valuable comment:

Firstly, to the all Anonymous who are leaving comments but do not have an account, I suggest that you sign off with your name so that I can address you properly. I guess we had learned how to write letters during our school days, so apply the techniques. Otherwise, I have to address you Z.

So Z, please allow me to break up your sentences so that I can respond accordingly in the right order.

"You should have tried their other dishes."
I think I can choose what I want to eat because I was a paying customer? So no offense.

"Sorry but honestly, you ordered the wrong stuff."
There should only be 2 kind of 'stuff' in a restaurant (or probably anywhere): good 'stuff', bad 'stuff'. If there is wrong 'stuff' on the menu, then I guess Jamie Oliver has to readjust his menu..oh no..is that what you meant, Z?

"They have quite a good steak (the prime rib), and their Tiramisu is so good."
Noted on the good steak and Tiramisu suggested. Appreciate that.

"Besides, Tiramisu is more Italian than a lemon meringue pie, and you should have ordered that since it's an Italian restaurant .. "
Sorry Z, but I cannot understand your English as 'more Italian' in terms of food. Like Hokkien Mee 'more hokkien' than Char Kway Teow? Or is this Maths?
I guess if it is an Italian restaurant and it is providing 'less Italian' food, then I assume that the chefs have the confidence to prepare those dishes to be as delicious as the 'more Italian' ones.
So, why do I HAVE to order Tiramisu again?

"you just don't sound like you actually know Jamie Oliver well. "
Hmm...Z, why do I have to know him well to try his food?

"And yes, a lemon meringue pie is THAT sour. -_- (same with Cedele). "
Thanks for sharing about your taste bud too! We can be best friends!

"Next time, ask the waiter/waitress for their recommendations."
Z, I don't usually do that.
Reasons being my objective of this blog is to provide unbiased review as a reference to readers and readers have the rights to read other contributors' reviews if they have doubts, before they step into the restaurant with some expectations. I'm not a paid blogger to only focus on all the good and put icing on the cake.
If I ask the restaurant what the recommended dishes are, then those dishes are usually their best ones and nobody will ever find the room for improvement. Then why don't they just sell mainly those that they recommend?

Remember, improvement is good, only if you are willing to be improved.

I guess you must be a loyal fan of Jamie Oliver, I respect that. I highly recommend you read a book called "You can heal your life" by Louise Hay. You can get it from Kinokuniya or borrow from a nearest library. It may be able to help you to display your loyalty to your idol in a more effective way.

Three Wombats Cafe

Bought a Groupon voucher for Three Wombats Cafe. The name of the Cafe caught my eyes and the location was quite near my place so I went ahead and try...it is at 18 Kim Keat Road, near Balestier Road. The place is kind of quiet, peaceful and humble...there are limited seats so I suggest you place a reservation first before you go.

My voucher consisted of a soup of the day, an appetizer and a main.
Soup of the day (U.P. $3.90) was Cauliflower cream..quite thick and I couldn't finish..not because it was too much..just too thick to my liking.

Hot Hot Shroom (U.P. $6.90) - buttered and juicy white button mushroom served with special wombat sauce..I stole a piece before I took this picture..be careful when you eat it hot because the juice coming squirting out may scald u! Yum...

Pasta Carbonara (U.P. $10.90) - Bacon, egg yolk and parmesan cheese in cream sauce..nice! the cream was just nice, not too creamy or watery, the spaghetti was smooth and bouncy..the bacon really added fragrant to the dish..hmm..wait..where was my egg yolk?

Beef Lasagne (U.P. $11.90) - Layers of mozzarella cheese served with handmade beefy Bolognese sauce. If you like tomato or tomato sauce, this is the dish for you...I didn't feel gluttony after taking many bites and the cafe was quite generous with the beef..

I ordered an extra dish! BerriBerri Delight ($6.90) - Wombats' must try specialty dessert pancake. Served with special berry sauce and ice cream. This is a good to have pancake..the shape was so cute!! The pancake was thin but chewy...I couldn't finish this also after the carbonara and lasagne..

I think I will go back to try other dishes because I really enjoy the service there..they were so approachable and prompt. Keep it up guys!!

So here are my views:
Ambience 2.5/5
Food 3/5
Service 3/5
Price Affordable

Have a wonderful coming Good Friday!
